Cleaning brewing equipment after use and disinfecting it before use is the rule. Up to the boiling process, the risk of infection is still very low, as bacteria die during boiling, but after that, the risk of infection increases. Think of the cooling of the wort, during the fermentation, during the lagering and do not forget the bottling. Hobby brewer, small or large brewery, proper cleaning and disinfection of brewing equipment is equally important in all cases. After all, nobody wants infected beer.
